Last year I ordered Justin and I matching ThinkPads. They’re R51’s which were the budget model for ThinkPads 5 or more years ago. I bought them off lease at a really good price from an online retailer of whose name I can’t remember. Anyway, as it turns out, the laptop quickly became my daily mode of communicating, internetting and all things I do computer wise. The R51’s have really small hard drives, but that wasn’t a problem for me as I have the home server with plenty of storage, so I simply kept all of my docs and stuff there.
Since it became so useful to me, I was certainly dismayed when the mouse pad and its functions died one day. After asking on an online forum as to what the nature of the problem might be, I took it apart and attempted to repair it. No dice in that department. I looked into having it repaired, but it was too expensive as compared to the worth of the laptop.
So, I took Justin’s laptop. I’ve been using it for a few months now and he really would like to have it back, especially when he visits the local coffee bar so he can surf the internets there. (As you do. I suppose. I’ve never been. I can surf and drink coffee right here at the house and never miss a beat. But, I digress.) It’s something he enjoys doing and he meets friends there and whatnot.
I’ve been looking around for a replacement, something faster and newer. This past week I found someone selling what is (in my mind) the Holy Grail of ThinkPads. A T60p.
I know what you’re thinking: “Oh my gosh, Brad. I can’t believe you’re going to get one of those! .That is fan-effing-tas-tic! I’m green with envy!”
Wait. What? Huh? You don’t know what a T60p is?
Okay, lemme tell you about this one: It’s got 3GB’s of RAM, a 2.16 Core Duo processor, a 360GB hard drive and has Windows 7 on it already. But the neat thing is the LCD display. It’s called a Flexview. It’s supposed to have some of the most vibrant colors of any laptop display ever made. You can view it equally well at any angle and it doesn’t fade or distort as one moves their head. Oh yeah, and they don’t make them anymore.
Anyway there are a few more niceties other than that, but let’s just say I’m stoked. It’s supposed to be delivered tomorrow and let me tell you, this has been one slooow week.

Yay!!!! A new porn finder!!! I really didn't understand what the stuff you said meant, so I made up my own description.
It's Christmas in Ma'amphis today! :) Would love to be there to watch you open the package. The look in your face would be priceless. I'm guessing that there'll be no sleep for the Brad tonight. He'll be up all night messing with his new toy and fall to sleep holding it to his chest.
"Watch out, Ralphie, it'll poke your eye out!" :)
I'm glad you got the laptop you wanted!!
1. Bitchin' choice.
2. Why not just plug a mouse into your laptop? You can't use it just because the pad's dead?
