Hi. I’m back. One of my good friends (CKB) sent a comment and reminded me that it had been one year since I last posted. It doesn’t seem that long, but apparently it has. Why did I take a break? That’s easy enough: I got to the point that the blog was feeling more like a job than fun. I would stare at the screen for long periods, trying to come up with an idea to write about.
I was never trying to be secretive or mysterious, I just took a break. Although the break was longer than I originally intended perhaps, it was surely needed. The reason I didn’t mention anything about it here was because I wasn’t really sure on any details or how long the break would be. All I did know was this: Like MacArthur, someday I would return.
What’s new here? I suppose the main development is that I work from home now. It’s amazing that I can be just as effective in my underwear as I am dressed and at the office. When I’m on the phone, a client can’t tell the difference because they can’t see me! I still work for the same company, but we downsized our offices again. I took a look around and volunteered to work from home. Yes, you know me, I give until it hurts.
Things are going well with Justin and I. Later this year we’ll celebrate 8 years together. (I told him it felt like 20 years on our last anniversary. He wasn’t nearly as amused as I was.)
I’ve been keeping up with many of you via your blog or your Twitter- thingy. I may not have commented much. But I’ve been there. Watching you. Lurking. :)
That’s it for now. I’ll have much more later. (Oh yeah, I’m getting some geekage shipped in later this week. So. Terribly. Excited!)

Holy Southern Smokes, Batman! I never thought I'd hear from you again. Very glad things are going well for you. Super nice you can work from home. Hope to see you again in 2010. If not, we'll see you in 2011.
Code Blue! Code Blue! Lem's in cardiac arrest! Brad posted! *EG* (not EKG)
I was os ecited this morning when I opened up my browser and there was an RSS feed for your post, that I nearly wet my pants. Well, that and the fact that I had to go to the bathroom really, really bad.
Seriously, it is so good to read you again! I hope we won't need to wait another year for the sequel.
As for working from home in your underwear - just remember what they tell people who are afraid to speak in front of large crowds. ;)
Thank you.
glad to see you're back and that you're ok. it's nice to see you other than being a mention on justin's blog.
i'm taking a bit of a break too. i think i'm a little bit burned out with school (in which i wasn't doing much and now i'm plugging away to get something to my supervisor this week) and working full time.
i was forced to work from home for a few months. it was ok, but i found it difficult to keep motivated and focused. then when i'd get all focused i'd forget to stop when work time was over.
what's your twitter nym so i can follow you. if you want you can connect to me first, i'm dykewife (that was an easy guess, right?)
